      This company specialises in customising savoury ingredients with individual products for every single customer. They lead a majority supply into food manufacturers including many UK retailers and meal kit suppliers.

      About the Procurement Assistant job

      The purpose of your role will be to ensure the accurate and timely supply of raw materials, consumables, and packaging and collaborate with planning, sales and production teams to facilitate effective demand planning whilst considering warehousing constraints.

      Key tasks

      • Work closely with Product Development and Technical teams for sourcing and approval of new raw materials and suppliers aswell as developing and maintain external relationships with key suppliers and liase with the warehouse team to ensure delivery targets are achieved.
      • Assist in the planning of deliveries of raw materials into multiple sites as well as arranging for transfers of stock to other sites.
      • Place purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery and ensure continuous improvements with purchasing methods and minimising external spends.
      • Problem solve effectively and successfully build on the processes and procedures that are in place.

      About You

      The successful candidate should ideally have experience in material management and stock control within the food manufacturing industry.

      • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
      • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
      • The ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple departments.
      • A keen eye for detail with the potential for strong strategic planning.
      • High end organisational skills.

      The Procurement Assistant job is based in Kent and is paying £28,000 - £30,000 according to your experience.

      The package includes 33 days of annual leave (including bank holidays), Christmas shutdown, and contribution to your pension at a rate of 5.5%.

      The working hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00 pm with the flexibility to work at home on a regular basis which would be 1 day per week once the role has been established.
