Generally interim candidates fall into two categories – those that are “full time” interim contractors, most likely working under their own limited company and for a day rate, and those who are happy to consider some temporary work whilst they look for the next permanent opportunity, most likely paid on a pro-rata salary basis. The latter can sometimes be ideal if you are also looking for a permanent person by giving you the opportunity to “trial” someone with a view that if they are right for the job then you can take them on full time – two birds, one stone!
