      QA Technician

      £30,000 - £35,000 Location: Wigan Product: Ingredients Ref: 8660

      About the QA Technician job

      The purpose of your role will be to provide support to the technical department, monitoring scheduled technical activities to ensure that they are completed in full and on time. You will generate reports/information that will enable follow up activities by the factory team plus carry out customer complaint investigations to define root cause and enable corrective action. This is a role with rotating shift patterns which should be considered prior to application.

      Key tasks

      • Carry out environmental swabs to the defined schedule, log results and identify any non-conformances to the Technical Manager.
      • Manage the internal audit schedule to ensure all audits are carried out to schedule and corrective actions are completed on time.
      • Carry out auditing including hygiene, GMP, and fabrication as well as monthly glass & brittle plastic audits.
      • Oversee the pest control non-conformances to ensure they are closed out on time.
      • Carry out process control paperwork checks and highlight any non-conformances.
      • Manage the calibration system and ensure all items listed are calibrated to schedule.

      About You

      • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
      • Proficient in conducting quality tests and inspections on raw materials and finished products.
      • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
      • Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
      • Certification in quality assurance or related field is a plus.
      • HACCP and Food Safety qualifications are essential.

      The QA Technician job is based in Wigan and is paying £24,000 - £26,000 according to your experience.

      The working hours are based on rotating shift patterns and are as follows:

      Week 1 Monday – Thursday 06:00–14:30 & Friday 06:00-13:30
      Week 2 Monday – Thursday 08:00-16:30 & Friday 07:30-15:00
      Week 3 Monday – Wednesday 11:30-22:00 & Thursday 12:00-22:00

      OR

      A permanent fixed shift Monday – Wednesday 11:30-22:00 & Thursday 11:30-21.30
