      About the Specifications Technologist job

      The purpose of your role will be to be responsible for generating, maintaining detailed, accurate and up to date customer specifications and other related paperwork while collaborating with cross-functional teams.  In addition, you will manage and co-ordinate the artwork process to meet on-site and customer deadlines and ensure artwork and packaging are accurate and safe.

      Key tasks

      • Responsible for coordinating all information for new product specifications.
      • Develop and maintain precise product specifications in time, in full, with a “right first-time approach” in compliance with regulatory standards, customer standards/policies, quality standards within agreed timescales.
      • Transferring specification data into specific customer formats using various customer specification systems / portals (e.g.: Micros, M&S FIND, Hamilton Grant).
      • Checking new product relevant information to ensure it meets legal requirements and is safe before adding to specification.
      • Ensure relevant site documents are updated, controlled and are managed as required per job role.
      • Conduct internal audits. Ensure internal audits are completed as per schedule and managed as per BRCGS standard and customer code of practices.

      About You

      • Degree/Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field desirable but not essential.
      • Proven experience as a Specification Technologist in the food manufacturing industry is essential. Experience with online specification systems is desirable.
      • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in generating (where specifications come to life) and maintaining product specifications.
      • Ability to work in fast paced environment, to tight deadlines while demonstrating great communication ‘’can do’’ attitude.
      • Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards, challenges and consumer trends.

      The Specifications Technologist job is based in Kent and is paying up to £35,000 according to your experience.

      The package includes 28 days holiday, statutory pension, staff shop, free fruit Friday and free parking.

      The working hours are Monday to Friday.
