      About the Specifications Technologist job

      The purpose of your role will be to work as a key member of the NPD team, you will be responsible for creating and gaining approval on all finished product specifications and artwork within the business.

      Key tasks

      • Generate ingredient declarations for NPD product submissions, and translate information onto product passports, internal templates, or retailer format.
      • Manage the artwork process by ensuring checks are completed and communicated to ensure key dates are achieved.
      • Generation of pack copy information for the creation of artwork.
      • Maintain the company’s own finished product specifications and retailer systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
      • In conjunction with the Technologist, ensure that samples are sent in a timely fashion for nutritional, cook verification, and shelf-life analysis.
      • Assist with NPD / technical documentation that may be required as part of the overall NPD process.
      • Ensure all information is presented in an accurate and professional manner and ensure that all information meets the legality and compliance guidelines.

      About You

      The successful candidate shall possess a minimum of 1 years’ experience within a food manufacturing environment and knowledge of retailer technical systems as well as a relevant food degree.

      • Ideally have some knowledge and background of food labelling legalities and training in relevant artwork.
      • Competent with mathematics and manages time and workload efficiently.
      • An excellent communication at all levels both written and verbally.

      The Specifications Technologist job is based in Monmouthshire, South Wales and is paying up to £35,000 per annum according to your experience. This is a permanent full time role, with some flexibility for home working with a small element of travel.

      The package includes 33 days holiday per year (including bank holidays), Pension with a total contribution of 8%, Life Insurance based on 2 x salary.

      The working hours are Monday to Friday and is a 40-hour working week.
