      Junior Development Chef – Part Time

      £24,000 pro rata Location: South Wales – Monmouthshire Product: Prepared Ref: 8215

      We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to work for a leading provider of premium quality specialist products to food manufacturers, foodservice, and retailers throughout the UK.

      With a constantly expanding portfolio and innovative approach to food, the business can provide customers with products tailored to their individual needs.

      About the Junior Development Chef job

      The Junior Development Chef will work as part of a small and talented team where you will be exposed to all aspects of food innovation and new product development.

      You will support the creation of new recipes and translate these into market-leading products, assisting the Development Technologists and NPD Manager throughout the NPD process, including undertaking key tasks such as sample making, preparing customer briefs and general housekeeping.

      In this role, you will have the opportunity to revitalise existing ranges/products to keep up with consumer tastes, ensure all creations satisfy price, quality, technical and operational parameters and assist in the running of factory trials of new products, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed.

      Skills & experience required for the Junior Development Chef job

      This role would suit either an experienced, or Junior Chef who is looking to transfer into food manufacturing.

      This may also suit a food science, or food technology graduate with a culinary flair and passion for food trends and innovation.

      A background of working in food production NPD/product development would a great advantage, such as from a university food industry placement, or similar trainee experience etc.

      You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of consumer food trends, have a passion for delivering results plus be a creative and innovative thinker.

      A driving licence is also required due to site location.

      The Junior Development Chef job is based in Monmouthshire, South Wales and is paying £24,000 pro-rata (£15,000 paid salary for part-time hours).

      The package includes an annual bonus, 33 days (pro-rata) of annual leave including bank holidays and allocated parking space.

      This is a part-time role, working 25 hours a week, preferably over 3 days, but this can be flexible according to your preference.
