This role is working for a leading importer and trader of ambient food products for the UK foodservice, manufacturing, and retail sectors.
The purpose of the Responsible Sourcing/Ethics Manager is to be responsible for the strategy and ethical trading/responsible sourcing programme for the business, plus conduct and maintain ethical risk assessment for new and approved suppliers.
You will understand specific customer objectives and tactical requirements and incorporate these into the overall supplier ethical trading/responsible sourcing programme to ensure supply chain integrity and transparency.
You will act as the expert on all matters relating to responsible/ethical sourcing and sustainability, keeping abreast of trends and developments industry-wide plus engage with external partners and stakeholders to ensure continuous alignment of global solutions and best practices.
Your background will be within the global food production industry.
You will possess a strong understanding of responsible sourcing issues impacting large businesses, global trends with demonstrable experience working in a similar role.
You will also have excellent knowledge of ethical business issues and trends, legislation, responsible supply chain, environmental management, net-zero, and human rights etc.
Strong project management skills are essential, together with excellent reporting ability.
The flexibility to travel globally is also required.
When you are not travelling, you will be based at the company head office in West Yorkshire.
The role is paying £40,000 - £50,000 according to experience.
