Assistant Product Developerup to £19,500 + excellent benefits Location: Homes Counties / South Central Product: Ambient Ref: 61946
A position has arisen for an Assistant Product Developer working for a dynamic food business which manufactures high end products. They work with their customers to develop an innovative, great tasting product range and work closely with both leading UK retailers and food manufacturers.
The main purpose of this role will be to support the product developers in developing products from concept to launch. You will work as part of the NPD team, liaising with other departments as necessary to ensure the successful development and launch of products. Day to day responsibilities will include:
To manage the retain sample area, ensuring the products are labelled correctly, in date and stored in the correct location.
Prepare and organise the daily workload, managing the work plan, printing recipes and sample requests.
Quality control – comparing and assessing products made with the std or retain sample to ensure product meets customer requirements.
To assist in ordering new raw materials or kitchen equipment and evaluate new raw materials against current.
Ideally you will have food related qualifications and knowledge of both health and safety issues and control of substances hazardous to health but you must have some kitchen related experience and an interest in food. You will also have a positive approach, the ability to be hands on in the kitchen making samples, good organisational skills, attention to detail, the ability to undertake a number of tasks and also the ability to effectively communicate within the team.
The job is based in the Home Counties / South Central region and is paying up to £19,500 according to individual skills and previous experience.
