This role of the Sourcing & Product Development Specialist focuses on product sourcing, new product development with suppliers, associated pricing and product specifications plus supplier and customer relationship management. You will assist in responding to customer briefs on a wide range of projects, as well as driving market-led product development, using innovative approaches. You will brief the supplier base in order to develop appropriate products, brief the design team to create packaging and labelling as required, manage the supply of samples and marketing material, be aware of relevant trends and market research, analyse and make recommendations on sales prices and support supplier performance management.
To be considered for the Sourcing & Product Development Specialist, you will ideally be educated to a degree standard in a food science discipline and possess at least 2 years experience in a similar role, most ideally within the catering or airline industry. The ideal candidate will have some solid experience in NPD, good food knowledge and commercial awareness plus project management and negotiation skills / experience are advantageous. You will be a passionate, confident and dynamic individual who is keen to make an immediate impact within a busy multi-skilled team. Excellent English skills are also essential plus fluency in German is highly desirable.
The Sourcing & Product Development Specialist job is based in the London region and is paying £25,000 - £30,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.
