Reporting to the Engineering Manager your role as Project Engineer will be to contribute effectively to the program of engineering projects for the site by assisting with the planning and execution of engineering and capital projects. You will identify opportunities to improve productivity across the manufacturing operation through the optimum use of equipment and resources.

Joining a multi-skilled engineering team working for a well-established frozen food manufacturer you will be working on a shift basis to provide both planned and unplanned maintenance support to the site.

Working for this large expanding company you will report into the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for engineering maintenance within the production department.  Ideally you will be competent in both electrical and mechanical engineering, as you will be dealing with day-to-day fault finding and repairs.

You will need to be an energetic, pro-active individual with excellent communication skills to be considered for the role.

Your role as Engineering Supervisor will be to manage & support the Engineers and contractors.  As the main contact for the shift you will be liaising with production to ensure that the shift teams prioritise breakdowns and are fully supported in order to complete their tasks.

You will be responsible for responding to breakdowns as well supervising Engineers to demonstrate minimal downtime and ensure that tasks are completed and adequate support is given.

You will plan the day to day workload of the maintenance teams to ensure that the team's skills are fully utilised.  You will audit the maintenance tasks to ensure that they are completed by the shift teams to ensure good engineering standards are observed.

Working closely with the training and HR department you will review the current training status of shift engineers to ensure the best skills available within the team

To be considered for this role you will have a strong engineering background gained within the food manufacturing industry as well as qualifications to support.

Our client, a market leader in their field, is looking for a hands on Engineer to carry out preventative maintainence and provide breakdown support on a day to day basis ensuring all machinery and equipment are in good working order and comply with current H&S standards and legislation. 

Ideally you will have a proven track record in working/troubleshooting within the FMCG marketplace and come from either an electrical or mechanical background.

Working closely with production, technical and the engineering teams you will need to define and fix production parameters, objectively evaluate failures and re-occurring low performances, identify causes and propose sustainable solutions. With the development and introduction of new products you will need to co-ordinate the appropriate trials and the implementation of new equipment.
